David Karan
Attorney David Karan is a member of Kaplan, Strangis and Kaplan, P.A., and has been with the firm since shortly after its founding. A Pennsylvania native, Mr. Karan attended Penn State as an undergraduate before attending law school in Minnesota, where he then began his legal career. A few years into that career, Mr. Karan sought an opportunity to teach law. He secured a position as an Assistant Professor at the Ohio State University College of Law, where he taught for three years and received the Professor of the Year Award in 1978 before returning to private practice.
Mr. Karan returned to Minnesota and joined Kaplan, Strangis and Kaplan, where he has concentrated his practice in business and corporate law, including corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and real estate matters for over 40 years. He takes pride in the fact that the firm has built enduring relationships with its clients, in some cases representing multiple generations of the same family. In addition to serving as a trusted advisor to the firm’s clients, Mr. Karan acts as trustee for a number of personal and family trusts. He also serves on the board of directors of Mackay Mitchell Envelope Company and Miller Felpax, a rail parts manufacturer.
